Rotation 11: Talbot

As predicted, University came out long before I got this rotation posted. ;)

Last rotation I had Leo move in with Scott, so that I could start playing through the conservationist career with him.

Leo takes some samples of the water for his job, and clears away some of the trash, while Scott contributes by scaring away some of the seagulls.

Leo and Scott's conservation efforts mean Mars no longer has free piles of food trash lying around for him to eat, so he just takes a nap inside instead.

They don't spend too much time on the island this rotation, because Scott's not finished with his outdoor enthusiast aspiration yet, so they're off to Granite Falls to collect some bugs, and find some new plants.

As you can see, it took Mars maybe five minutes to find a bush, fight a squirrel in it, and get sick.

He also finds a bear, which he proceeds to growl at. Mars only trusts one tall, furry man, and that is Scott.

I just really want to stress that it only took Mars about 2-3 in-game hours to fully transform back into a diseased chupacabra.

I am pleased to report that I have finally figured out you can stock up on wellness treat at the vet, and use them to instantly cure pets, but sadly I did not figure that out this rotation, so Mars spent a lot of time looking like this.

Leo used his merpowers to call for some nice, sunny weather, so they spent their first afternoon playing horseshoes at their campsite.

They actually ended up camping out at the national park overnight, because you need to be in the area at 5am for the wild plants to spawn & grow correctly.

Scott found some stinkbug friends while he was out looking for things to collect.

He did not have much luck catching them.

The dragon dragonfly also made an appearance, but Scott did not make it over in time to catch it. :(

He did have a bit more luck with the wild plants, though he did not manage to find all of them, so they'll have to make another trip back to Granite Falls in the future.

After digging through the trash, Scott has found everything worth collecting in the park for this vacation, so they return back to their campsite for their last night.

Upon returning the island, Scott tends to his garden, and takes his very diseased dog to the vet.

Since there's actually reception at the clinic, I had Scott check the odd job listings to make a little extra cash.

I found this very fitting listing for Scott, who is absolutely dumb enough to believe that someone would go to a beach with a bunch of wallets, lose them, and then want help checking other people's bags for them.

Also hi, Jermaine. You're looking very young these days.

While Scott goes on a questionable wallet hunt, Leo heads to the beach to take care of some computer work for his jobs, and then spends a bit more time taking care of the island.

>

Scott does a bit of woodworking after his task is done, and then takes care of some laundry.

Mars sticks his head under Scott's butt to lap up some of that delicious laundry water, which seems like an extremely bad idea, given how often Scott poops himself...

...And sure enough, Scott manages to fart on his own dog not once, but twice this rotation!

Look at his distressed little face. They're both so dumb, I love them; even when they do stupid things like this.

Scott goes fishing for a bit after that, and Mars is smart enough to steer clear of him this time.

I've been using the fish to make plasma packs for Scott, which works well since he can't order them online on his home lot, although it takes a lot of packs to feed him.

While he's out fishing he catches some invasive species, which helps improve the island enough to hit the first stage of restoration.

With the addition of JA, Scott has yet another nature aspiration to complete before he can become the ultimate nature man, so I sent him and Leo off to Selvadorada to start working on the new jungle explorer aspiration.

Now, I won't be able to have him complete the final nature aspiration that came with RoM, but what I can do is give him and Leo a kid somewhere down the road, and have them complete it for him. ;)

Scott needs a few supplies before he can start working away at his new aspiration, so they stop by the market first to pick up a few items.

I'm not planning on having him do a lot of temple exploring - I'd like to have Kunal and Camille try to get all of the relics and treasure, and excavate all of the artifacts, so Scott will be doing just enough to meet the aspiration requirements.

From what I've played so far, occult sims definitely have an easier time exploring since they have less needs, so I'm hoping that when I get around to playing Kunal & Camille it'll be a little more challenging. ;)

And with an inventory full of supplies, Scott sets off into the jungle.

I did actually have a bit of an ulterior motive when I sent them here, because what I was really looking forward to this rotation was getting the two of them to this very scenic little spot...

I would have liked to have Scott propose on the actual bridge, but sadly that wasn't possible. Still, this view was super gorgeous no matter where they were standing.

Moving on to a not-as-gorgeous view, have a well-timed picture of Mars' butt hanging out of a bush.

You bet he honed in on each and every bush scattered around the jungle; it's not a proper vacation if Mars doesn't resemble a diseased chupacabra by the end of it.

They make it to their first temple, which requires a bit of a swim to get to the section with the traps. Leo is more than happy to take a little nap in the water, while Scott continues to explore.

Inside the lower levels of the temple, Scott is very pleased, because there is a lot of dirt.

He activates the wrong trap, but only suffers from a small gust of wind and dirt. Again, Scott likes dirt, so this is not a problem for him.

Somehow he gains a logic skill point from this, and moves on to trying out a different mechanism.

He runs into a temple guardian, and it takes him several minutes to realize it is, in fact, a walking skeleton.

But then again, what else would you expect from Scott?

He manages to get to the treasure chest, and collects his first bounty. He'll need to find a few more chests to complete his aspiration, but I think I'll send him back for those once I've gotten a chance to play with Kunal and Camille.

Back at their vacation house, Mars has gone full chupacabra once again.

He then surprised me by knocking over the trash can, which I didn't know dogs could do?? I mean, I figured they could, but I didn't realize there was a whole animation for it!

Leo is not as impressed by this discovery, but Scott swoops in to distract him.

>

Meanwhile, Mars decides that he is not quite diseased enough, so he laps up a few puddles, and some tasty toilet water for good measure.

On their last day of vacation they explore some of the surrounding areas, and find the Omiscan baths.

Nothing says 'romantic atmosphere' like turquoise pool water, some gorgeous views, and a diseased shark-dog swimming laps around you!

All of this gets Leo feeling very pumped up, so he does some naked poolside sit-ups, as you do.

Next rotation they get a new house, courtesy of Livy, so look forward to a proper house tour then!
